Online Basic First Aid Course in Saudi Arabia

Our basic first aid course teaches you what to do in the first few minutes after someone is hurt or suddenly falls ill. In one day with Future Institute for Advanced Professional Training, you learn CPR, how to use an AED, how to stop bleeding, and how to help someone who is choking, burned or overheated.
You can choose a TVTC-approved certificate or a Saudi Heart Association certificate. Both are valid for two years. We train across Saudi Arabia, in our classroom, online or at your work site.
What is a basic first aid course?
A basic first aid course is a short, hands-on class that teaches ordinary people how to keep an injured or ill person safe until medical help arrives.

What You Learn in Our Basic First Aid Training
Our basic first aid training covers the emergencies that happen most often at work and at home. Each topic is taught with a short explanation and then practised on manikins or with a partner.on practice. You cover eight core modules:
We also add Saudi-specific advice, such as which emergency number to call and how to deal with heat illness in summer. These are the topics you will cover
Module | What you cover |
|---|---|
1. The first aider’s role | What a first aider does, staying safe, and calling for help |
2. Checking the scene and the person | How to check for danger, see if the person responds, and check breathing |
3. CPR | Chest compressions and rescue breaths for adults, practised on manikins |
4. Using an AED | How to switch on and use an automated external defibrillator safely |
5. Airway and recovery position | How to keep an unconscious, breathing person’s airway open |
6. Bleeding and wounds | How to stop bleeding with pressure and dressings |
7. Burns, scalds and nosebleeds | How to cool and cover burns, and what not to put on them |
8. Choking, fainting, poisoning and shock | What to do for each, step by step |
9. Heat illness | How to spot heat exhaustion and heatstroke, and how to cool a person down |

First Aid, CPR and AED Training: Why the Three Skills Go Together
First aid, CPR and AED skills work as one chain. First aid keeps a person safe, CPR keeps blood moving when the heart stops, and an AED can shock the heart back into a normal rhythm.
When the heart stops, every minute without CPR lowers the chance of survival. That is why the CPR and AED part of our basic first aid course gets the most practice time. Our first aid CPR AED training is fully hands-on.
Workplace First Aid: Why a First Aid at Work Course Matters
Workplace first aid matters in Saudi Arabia because many people work on busy sites, in factories and in hot weather. Saudi Labour Law requires employers to protect workers from harm and to keep first aid cabinets ready at work, as the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development explains.
A first aid cabinet only helps if someone knows how to use it. That is why many companies send staff on a first aid at work course, so there is always a trained first aider on each shift.

Emergency First Aid Training for Saudi Work Sites
Our emergency first aid training uses real workplace examples, like cuts from tools, falls, burns from hot work, and heat illness outdoors. Trainees practise what to do in the first few minutes before help arrives.
Knowing who to call is part of every basic first aid course we teach. Saudi Arabia has several emergency numbers, and the right one depends on where you are.
Which Emergency Number to Call
Your company may also have its own site emergency number. We teach trainees to learn it on their first day.
Basic First Aid Courses: Which One Do You Need?
Future Institute offers a ladder of first aid courses, so you can match the training to your role. Most workers start
with the basic course, while designated first aiders and safety teams take the longer options.
| Course | Duration | Best for | Validity |
|---|---|---|---|
| First Aid, CPR and AED | 1 day | General workers, drivers, teachers | 2 years |
| Basic Life Support (BLS) | 1 day | Healthcare and site safety staff | 2 years |
| Emergency First Aid at Work | 1 to 2 days | Appointed workplace first aiders | 2 years |
| Advanced First Aid | 3 days | Site medics and response teams | 2 years |

Getting a Saudi Heart Association First Aid Certificate
Future Institute for Advanced Professional Training is approved by the Saudi Heart Association. If your employer asks for a Saudi Heart Association first aid certificate, tell us when you book, and we will register you for the SHA version of the basic first aid course.
The course content and the one-day length are the same. Only the body that stands behind your certificate changes.

Which First Aid Certificate Do Saudi Employers Accept?
Saudi employers accept first aid certificates from recognised bodies. The right one depends on your sector.
| Body | Recognised for |
|---|---|
| IADC | Oil, gas, and industrial sites, including Aramco and GCC contractors |
| Saudi Heart Association (SHA) | Healthcare and BLS roles inside the Kingdom |
| Highfield | General workplace first aid |
Future Institute issues IADC accredited certificates, and every card can be checked through our QR code
verification system. Always confirm the body your employer asks for before you book.

First Aid Training Online, in Class or at Your Site
You can take our basic first aid course in the way that suits you best. We teach in our classroom, online, or at your own site anywhere in Saudi Arabia.
First aid training online works well for busy staff and remote sites. First aid is still a hands-on skill, so every option includes practice that a trainer watches.

First Aid Box Checklist and First Aid Kit Training
Saudi Labour Law asks employers to keep first aid cabinets at work, but we did not find one official list of what must go inside. A sensible start is a basic kit like the one below, then adding items for your site’s own risks.
This first aid box checklist is based on the suggested minimum list from the UK Health and Safety Executive, with a few items added for hot, outdoor work. Check your kit every month and after every use.
Our basic first aid course includes short first aid kit training. You will learn what each item is for, how to use it, and how to spot missing or expired items.

Who Should Take a Basic First Aid Course?
A basic first aid course is useful for almost everyone. You do not need any medical knowledge or experience to join.
Companies often send at least one person from each team or shift. These people benefit most:
